Since products have different thicknesses, choosing size based on 2D measurements for a thicker item might result in getting a bag that's too small for that item.
Try using this formula to work out the minimum size you need for your mailer bags:
Determine the minimum length of your mailer
Product length (in) + product height (in) + 2"
Determine the minimum width of your mailer
Product width (in) + product height (in) + 1/2"
You would want to choose a bag size that is equal or greater than the minimum length x minimum width above.
